K-K-K-Krap!

The weekend brought a series of poor young women:

Taya Sienna

Kahlani Faith

Kylah Violet

Jasmine, a sister for Bodhan and cousin for Addison.

Kailah Kelly

Keita Shanae

Tiarna Jaize

Ginger Luella

Ayla Muriel

Novalee Joanne

Ciana Louise

Tjayanga Cecelia sister for Yarran, Isaiah, Natasha and Tyler.

But just when I was thinking that the boys had been particularly fortunate over the last couple of weeks, then appeared:

Riain Nicholas

Kalani, Keona and Indiana. Yes, all boys, apparently.

And finally, the type of family for which this site was created:

Mytchall Konner, brother to Lukas and Kolton.

Let's take a boy's name, add a random letter, and call it a girl!

Leroi. At least the surname is not Brown. This time.

Cadrian Jaime Xena. Hmm. This is a girl. A girl with a truly ridiculous name.

Blake Edward. And in an appropriately comedic (nay, almost slapstick) turn, Blake is a brother to Indiah and Kyah.

Get thee back to the ashes

In the past week birth announcements have treated us to the (re)birth of a Fenix and a Phoenix.

Sometimes we come across shocking names that we really hope are just typos. It’s nice to see proof that occasionally they actually are. Take for example young Holy Shai. Thankfully although the grandparents find their new grand-daughter truly angelic, the next announcement from the actual parents proved that they were not in fact insane (or in rapture), and that their daughter’s name is in fact Holly.

A boy named Sydney.

Taylah Capri.

I think there may be some mocking in store for young Harper Lee. Especially as he’s a boy.

Eboni Jayne.

Xanthia Josina. I guess parents Kylie and Darren really wanted something unique to counter their quintessentially Australian names.

Brielle Paris.

Dior. We need to introduce her the Versace (still my favourite name of the year) and Armani.

Jonte Matisse.

Shaelee Skye. The presence of Shaelee’s sister Brooke reminds me of my favourite old-school badly theme named family, where the siblings were Brooke, Skye and Rhodes.

Kodey Elijah.

Antigone Carole Margaret. Okay. Have they read the play? Any of the mythology? I’m going to take a wild guess and say no. Actually, I’m going to hope the answer is no.
